SURPASS event a success for SUFC and Business School
13 Jun 2013
The University of Sydney Business School has hosted the third SURPASS Learning and Development event, as part of its partnership with the Sydney University Football Club.
The event, held at the Business School's new CBD campus, was delivered by Associate Professor Nick Wailes, Director of MBA programs, who provided invaluable insight into navigating industry disruption and change, through a series of case studies examining recent successes and failures in business around the world.
"Providing ongoing support for our strategic partners is a key part of the Business School's platform of learning, teaching and development," Associate Professor Wailes said. "The importance of effective mentoring, learning and skills development for anyone engaged in a business career can never be understated. The SURPASS program is an excellent example of how the Business School can work together with its partners to provide opportunities for our students, and the wider community."
SURPASS is a networking and mentoring initiative, aimed at providing a bridge for the University club Rugby players as they move on from sport and into the next phase of their career.
Founded in 2010, the SURPASS program pairs current rugby players with mentors most suited to their future ambitions on and off the sporting field. The program is open to all players from the SUFC roster. The program also features events and networking opportunities for past and present players.
