Corporal Mark Donaldson VC to inspire leaders of the future
22 Apr 2014
Australian war hero, Corporal Mark Donaldson VC, will be a special guest speaker at the second event in the Financial Review BOSS Emerging Leaders program to be held on May 21 at the Establishment Ballroom in Sydney.
Corporal Donaldson's journey is truly a remarkable one. His recollection of those crucial moments in Afghanistan, and how a split second decision changed his life, are as exceptional as the acts that led to seeing him awarded a Victoria Cross for Australia - the ultimate symbol of heroism.
The Financial Review BOSS Emerging Leaders Program is a leadership initiative launched in 2012 by the Australian Financial Review BOSS Magazine in partnership with the University of Sydney Business School focused on supporting and mentoring Australia's future leaders.
The Emerging Leaders Program provides up and coming leaders with the opportunity to network and gain business insights from Australia's foremost business and leadership experts.
Associate Professor Robin Stonecash, Director of Executive Education, is a strong advocate of the program,
"The partnership with the Australian Financial Review BOSS Magazine provides an opportunity for members and guests to hear from various leaders about their different experiences and leadership styles and how these lessons can be applied to their own business context".
She believes there is a strong synergy between military leadership and business acumen,
"Attracting high calibre leaders such as Corporal Donaldson is a key feature of the program and we're looking forward to hearing about this military example of leadership and courage. I'm sure it will hold many keys to success for the next generation of emerging business leaders".
