Scholarship ceremony recognises over one hundred undergraduate and postgraduate students
02 Jun 2014
This year the Business School has awarded scholarships to more than one hundred undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The scholarships have been described by Acting Dean, Professor David Grant as "essential to the Business School's ability to meet its mission of developing and inspiring future business leaders".
Professor Grant recently hosted the Business School's 2014 Scholarship Ceremony held in the Great Hall at the University of Sydney.
The annual ceremony, he said, offered "a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary talent and hard work" of the Business School's scholarship recipients.
Professor Grant added that the ceremony was also "an opportunity for us to recognise those many industry partners, alumni and other supporters of the school whose generosity make it possible to offer so many scholarships".
The occasional address at the Ceremony was given by this year's Emerging Leaders MBA Scholarship recipient, Omar Khan, a 34 year old finance industry executive specialising in ethical funds management.
The Emerging Leaders MBA Scholarship is awarded by the Financial Review BOSSMagazine and the University of Sydney Business School.
The Chancellor of the University of Sydney, Belinda Hutchinson, was in attendance at the Ceremony.
