Participants of the University of Sydney's Master of Marketing Program were briefed about one of their innovative units of study, entitled Regulatory Environment and Ethics, at a recent introductory drinks session.
The subject of Regulatory Environment and Ethics is acknowledged by many in the industry as being vital for marketing professionals to grasp. Yet the topic of how legal and ethical issues impact marketing strategies is seldom covered within marketing programs taught at other institutions.
At this event, the course convener, Associate Professor Terry Beed, an expert in the area of sustainability, outlined some of the key topics covered in this course. The aim of the evening was to introduce participants to this highly relevant subject in an informal setting before they officially embarked on this intensive program of study. The informal yet informative gathering gave students and lecturers the opportunity to meet in a relaxed, social atmosphere, with a chance to run through the learning objectives and the various assessment tasks.
