Students learn implications of Global Financial Crisis
200 enthusiastic current university students attended a lecture on The Global Financial Crisis and Australian Housing Markets presented by Rory Robertson, Macquarie Bank's Interest Rate Strategist, at The University on Wednesday 23 September, 2009.
Rory discussed developments in the global and Australian economies and housing markets in light of the Global Financial Crisis (GFC). In particular, he contrasted the performances of the US and Australian economies, explaining why local house prices had behaved nothing like those in the US. Rory's presentation was both informative and interesting, and the audience was eager to ask questions.
The lecture was part of the Guest Lecture Series, Careers in Economics which is organised by the Discipline of Economics in the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Sydney.
