Business School Orientation and Mentoring

The Business School’s Orientation program runs the week before classes start in February:

  • Undergraduate students – Tuesday 27 February, 2018
  • Postgraduate students – Wednesday 28 February, 2018

Kick-start your Business School experience with a welcome session from the Dean, and by meeting a senior student mentor who will show you around, answer your questions and introduce you to other new students in your degree.

The Business School Peer Mentoring Program runs between Week 1 and Week 8 of semester. You’ll attend events during Orientation Week, and meet with your group two or three more times during your first weeks at university.

Registration is essential, and will open in early February.

If you don’t register for a mentor during Orientation Week, you will have the opportunity to register in Week 1 of semester. We will email you at your University student email account with information on late registration.

If you are a current student and interested in becoming a mentor, find out more and register.

Peer-Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)

PASS stands for Peer-Assisted Study Sessions. PASS is a peer facilitated, cooperative student support scheme for all students operating in most core units of study. PASS attendance is voluntary but highly recommended. It is not a remedial program for "struggling" students, but rather, a program for all students who want to improve their academic performance. You also get some great resources produced by clubs and societies like careers guides with internship opportunities. Students have made lifelong friends at a club event they attended in their first year of university.
