Undergraduate Excel Skills Diagnostic Testing
Welcome to the University of Sydney Business School. We are very happy that you are joining us for what promises to be an exciting year of study and opportunities.
All new Business School undergraduate students are required to undertake a pre-semester Excel Skills Diagnostic Test during orientation week. Following the test you will be notified via email if additional support is recommended. If additional support is recommended, or you believe you would benefit from extra help with Excel, you may attend Excel workshops to help prepare you for the semester ahead.
Excel skills are essential for your success in accounting, finance and business analytics units at the University of Sydney Business School. The Excel workshops will assist you in developing these important skills. This resource is part of the Business School's wider commitment to provide optimal learning support to our students.
Details of the pre-semester Excel skills diagnostic test:
The Excel Skills Diagnostic Test is a 15-minute online test. The test link and detailed instructions will be emailed to you on Monday, 20 July and the test will be closed at 5pm on Friday, 24 July. You need to check your university email account on 20 July to get the relevant information and to complete the test before the deadline. This test will allow you the opportunity to demonstrate your proficiency in using Excel worksheet to conduct analysis. It is not a knowledge test or memory test, nor are you required to study for this test.
Please note: Before accessing your university email account and attempting the online test you must first ensure you activate your unikey account.
If you have difficulties accessing internet at home, you may then choose to attend a computer lab based test in one of the scheduled sessions below.
Thursday, 23 July – Economics & Business Building Lab 5
You are required to be seated in the room no later than 10 minutes prior to the advertised commencement of your chosen test session. You must also bring along your unikey account information (login and password) and your student identification card.
