Call for Papers

The Co-operatives Research Group in the School of Business, the University of Sydney will be hosting a Co-operatives and Mutuals Research and Teaching Conference on 19-20 November 2014.

We are interested in papers relating to all dimensions of research and teaching in the field of co-operatives and mutuals. We welcome papers from researchers, both within and outside educational institutions business schools, who have an interest in these forms of business. For example, papers on the economics, management, finances, law, politics, social impact and history of co-operatives and mutuals. We also welcome papers on overseas as well as Australian subjects.

If anyone is interested in presenting a paper they will be asked to submit a 1000 word abstract or a 6,000 word maximum paper, following a Harvard format, for refereeing by 13 June 2014 to Greg Patmore at and Olivera Marjanovic at

The abstract will provide:

(i) A summary of the argument of the argument of the paper
(ii) A summary of the findings of the paper
(iii) A selected list of references for the paper

We also welcome panel proposals with the panel organiser or organisers submitting a 300-word statement supporting the panel proposal and the relevant abstracts or papers by 13 June.

All authors of the abstracts/papers and panel organisers will be notified by 15 August 2014 at the latest whether their abstracts or papers have been accepted for the conference.
