Summary of aims

  • To understand how older people in a multicultural Western Sydney view mobility and access issues in relation to their daily activity of belonging to a community and enjoying a fulfilled life.
  • To use innovative methods to ensure representation of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations.

Significance

This research develops cross-disciplinary understanding of aging and mobility in everyday life and will fill a significant gap in the literature about migrant experiences.

Expected outcomes

Unique insight that helps transport policy makers and community service provider’s work together to support older people’s transport independence in multicultural populations.
