With latest research from Associate Professor John Shields, Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies
This session explores the hotly-debated issue of executive pay and our keynote speaker, John Shields, offers new Australian evidence that challenges two of the central tenets of corporate governance 'best practice' in this field. These include the ideas that incentive pay increases the sensitivity of CEO reward to company-level performance and that non-executive directors are more adept at moderating CEO pay than are those who are 'independent' from the CEO. Such findings are guaranteed to make for animated exchange between the session's panellists.
