Bio

Catherine Hardy joined the University of Sydney in 2004. Her research program is directed towards assisting organisations improve the governance, assurance and protection of their information and information related systems. Drawing from the fields of information policy, audit and assurance and risk management, Catherine's research interests focus mainly on the changing and complex relationships between technical innovation, risk and organisational change. Catherine also has a strong commitment to reflexive and case based methodologies.

Her teaching approach is based on constructionist principles, viewing her role as a co-explorer and creating experiences where diverse perspectives can be explored through an inquiry and dialogical learning process.

As the co-founder and member of The Information Systems Management Research Group (ISMRG), Catherine has extensive experience in research, teaching and consultancy in the areas of information risk, assurance and governance in both the private and public sectors. She is also a member of the Business and Professional Ethics Research Group (BPEG) and the International Centre for Research in Organizational Discourse, Strategy and Change (ICRODSC).

Catherine is a reviewer for the International Journal of Information Management (Asia Pacific) and reviews on an ad hoc basis for Government Information Quarterly and the Australian Accounting Review.
