Professor Eddie Anderson joined the University of Sydney in 2008, having moved from the University of New South Wales, where he was Professor of Operations Management. He came to Australia to take up a position at the Australian Graduate School of Management in 1996. Prior to this he was at the University of Cambridge where he was on the faculty at the Department of Engineering and at the Judge Business School. From 1997 to 2000 he served as Associate Dean (Academic Affairs) at the Australian Graduate School of Management; from 2002 to 2004 he was Associate Dean (Research) and Director of the PhD program; and in 2006 he was Acting Dean at the AGSM.

Professor Anderson has an honours degree in Mathematics (first class) from Trinity Hall, Cambridge. Following this he took up a position with Westland Helicopters. During his employment there he completed a PhD on Job Shop Scheduling at the University of Cambridge.

Professor Anderson has published three books and over 50 papers in international academic journals. Eleven students have successfully completed PhDs under his supervision. His recent research on the behaviour of participants in electricity markets, such as the NEM in Australia, has been supported by two ARC Discovery grants.
