Harry's research interests are labour and business history, biography and leadership. His PhD employed biographical method historically in an evaluation of trade union leadership. He is also interested more generally in organisational leadership and biography as a method for studying organisations.
Harry is a Deputy Director of the Business and Labour History Group in the Faculty of Economics and Business, an Associate Editor of the journal Labour History (which is a member of the History Cooperative, University of Illinois Press) and co- editor of WorkSite and on the editorial committee of Working Lives.
