Hassan holds a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from North Carolina State University, NC, USA and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Louisville, KY, USA. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Cairo University in Egypt. Prior joining ITLS, Hassan worked for 6 years in the US as a Research Analyst and Business Analyst. Hassan’s main research interests are in airline profitability and fuel hedging as well as general risk management in airline industry. He is interested in investigating the best strategies of fuel hedging to minimize risk of price volatility and increase airline profitability. Hassan will work under supervision of Dr. Rico Merkert.
