Isabel's research interests include superannuation, earnings management, accounting for investments in associated entities and accounting for insurance. Isabel completed her PhD in 2007 titled: 'Applying the "economic substance over legal form" principle to pension accounting: a comparative analysis of rule development in the USA and Australia and implications for Australian firms' superannuation accounting practices'. Isabel worked as a Chartered Accountant for many years prior to her academic career and has extensive auditing and accounting experience in the superannuation, insurance and rural industries. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Isabel currently teaches accounting for business combinations and complex transactions. To link her teaching to student learning outcomes, Isabel has completed a Certificate of Higher Education.
