Bio

Jarrod Vassallo is an Early Career Development Fellow at the University of Sydney Business School. Prior to this Jarrod completed his PhD at the Cambridge Judge Business School on a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Scholarship under the supervision of Jaideep Prabhu, Jawaharlal Nehru Professor of Indian Business and Enterprise. While completing his PhD, Jarrod was awarded a prestigious AMA-Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium Fellowship and was an expert witness on branding and reputation for the Federal Court of Australia. Jarrod will lecture on social entrepreneurship and is interested in studying social enterprises in developing economies. His current research involves understanding the strategies employed by microfinance institutions in Bangladesh including their social and financial performance implications. Previously, Jarrod was employed as a Senior Strategy Consultant at Interbrand, and then at Landor Associates. In this capacity, he advised executives on all facets of brand strategy, management and creation and worked with clients across government, professional services, consumer goods, industrial, technology, energy, automotive, pharmaceutical and not-for-profit sectors. His past clients have included Microsoft, Citi, the Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, Westpac, Coles, Transport for NSW, Toyota, Wrigley, Domino's Pizza and Pernod Ricard.
