Bio

Meysam Arvan holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tehran. As an M.Sc. student, Meysam’s research interest was mainly focused on developing mathematical optimization models and analytical approaches for different operations within Supply Chain Management (SCM) context. He has also been involved in different projects in various fields of optimization such as supplier selection, resilient engineering, clean energy supply chains, intellectual capital evaluation, etc. The outcome of these projects have been published in prestigious journals and international conference proceedings. His M.Sc. thesis was on modelling blood banks network and locating blood supply chain facilities.

Meysam started his Ph.D. at the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS) in March 2015. He is currently involved in a project funded by Australian Research Council (ARC) supervised by A/Prof Behnam Fahimnia. In this project, Meysam is looking into behavioural operations in demand forecasting task and its repercussions on different layers of the supply chain. He is also working on developing a Forecasting Support System (FSS), which is capable of considering human adjustments to system-generated forecasts and contextual information. This project is being conducted in incorporation of the industry partner Coca-Cola Amatil.
