Nick Dyrenfurth is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies. Nick is the author or editor of several books on labour and political history as well as having published widely in leading academic journals such as Labour History, Australian Journal of Politics and History and Australian Journal of Political Science. In 2009 he won the Gollan Prize for Australian labour history. He is presently undertaking a research project on the ideal of 'mateship' in Australian history.
He is the Federal Secretary of the Australian Society for the Study of Labour History, Associate Editor of its journal, Labour History and Vice-President of its Sydney branch where he edits its bi-annual publication, The Hummer. Nick is also a frequent contributor to The Australian newspaper and has written many commentary pieces for The Monthly, The Age, Daily Telegraph and Canberra Times. He has also acted as a commentator on television and radio stations across the nation.
