Bio
Nick Wailes specialises in comparative employment relations and strategic management.
Nick's current research projects include a comparison of the effects of globalisation on industrial relations and human resource developments in retail banking and automobile assembly across seven countries and a study of the impact of enterprise resource planning systems on aspects of organisational management in large Australian firms. Both these projects are funded by ARC Discovery Grants. Findings from Nick's research have been published in a number of leading international journals including Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, Journal of Organisational Change Management, International Human Resource Management Journal and the British Journal of Industrial Relations.
Nick is one of the editors of International and Comparative Employment Relations (with Greg Bamber and Russell Lansbury, published by Allen and Unwin and Sage) and Cases in Strategy and Management (with Leanne Cutcher, published by McGraw Hill).
In 2006 Nick was invited to act as a Rapporteur at the International Industrial Relations 15th World Congress held in Peru in September 2006. He is a member of the Organisational Discourse, Strategy and Change Group (ODSCG) and acts as a consultant to industry.
