Niles graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka with an honours degree in Transport & Logistics Management. His honours degree research focused on supply chain project management practices at MNCs in Sri Lanka. Concurrently, he was awarded as the Most Outstanding Graduate of the Year award of the university in addition to receiving the field gold medal for the highest GPA in Transport & Logistics Management.

Niles began his PhD at the ITLS in March of 2015 under the supervision of Associate Prof. Behnam Fahimnia within the general theme of Behavioural Supply Chain Management as part of the ARC Training Centre for Food and Beverage Supply Chain Optimisation. Niles’ research is titled “The effects of judgmental forecasting on packaging operations of rice and rice related products” and focuses on operations at industry partner SunRice. Niles is part of a dynamic Behavioural Supply Chain research team at the ITLS spearheaded by Associate Prof. Behnam Fahimnia.

Prior to joining ITLS, Niles worked as an Associate Consultant for attune Consulting – a preferred technology consultant to fashion and lifestyle brands across the globe. With his background in Logistics and Supply Chain Niles contributed to attune as an SAP Materials Management consultant where he worked with brands such as Crocs, Adidas, Li & Fung and Gazal basing himself in both Sri Lanka and USA.
