Peter Edwards is a lecturer in business information systems and management accounting. He has extensive experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate units that cover the design and implementation of management information systems and in information systems audit and control. The development of commercially relevant accounting and information technology (IT) courses are a key component of his contribution to the Faculty.
Peter's research interests are similarly aligned, focusing on the impact of advanced manufacturing technology on the appropriateness of control system design in an array of business settings. Before joining the University of Sydney he worked as a senior manager in a large chartered accounting firm where he provided specialist advice in the fields of information technology, heavy manufacturing, mining and construction.
Peter Edwards has also been involved in the professional programs of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the CPA Australia. As a regular group leader and presenter he maintains current and realistic knowledge of the admission standards of Australia's premier accounting bodies.
