Dr. Ranjit Voola's research revolves around strategic marketing and the application of strategic marketing concepts in various contexts; including international marketing and poverty alleviation. In the context of poverty, he is interested in the role of market-based mechanisms in alleviating poverty. Ranjit is the Director of the Poverty Alleviation and Profitability Research Group.
He has published in several journals including the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management, Australasian Marketing Journal, Journal of Knowledge Management and Journal of Marketing Education. Ranjit has supervised one PhD, two Doctor of Business Administration and three Honours Scholars. He currently co-supervises two PhD Scholars.

His teaching philosophy is based on 'questioning assumptions' which he believes provides a solid basis for developing unique marketing strategies. Ranjit was the recipient of the 2007 School of Business Award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching of Research and Inquiry and the prestigious 2008 Pearson Education Australia - New Zealand Marketing Academy (ANZMAC) Emerging Marketing Educator of the Year Award. In 2012, he was awarded a Dean's citation for teaching.
