Sally joined the WRC in January 2009 and is currently the project manager and lead researcher for Australia at Work, a major ARC linkage project being conducted by the Workplace Research Centre (WRC). The study is a five-year longitudinal study tracking the working lives of over 8,000 Australians. She is also the project manager and lead researcher for the Police at Work study, a sister study to Australia at Work. The study is a five-year longitudinal study tracking the working lives of 800 police officers. Sally has also worked on a number of other commissioned research projects including projects for the NSW Office for Women, the NSW Office for Industrial Relations, the Victorian United Firefighters Union (UFU), United Voice and NCVER.

Immediately prior to joining the WRC, she worked for five years as a National Industrial Officer for the Finance Sector Union. She has also worked in IR, employment and VET in the NSW public sector. She has undertaken consultancy work for a range of clients including the NSW MERSITAB, UNESCO and UNESCAP. Sally has a Masters of Industrial Relations & Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Business with a major in Employment Relations. Sally's research interests include union organising, job quality, pay equity, executive remuneration, the federal system of workplace relations, workplace safety, restructuring, work-life balance and corporate social responsibility.
