Sangeeta completed her undergraduate studies at Presidency College, Calcutta University and her postgraduate studies at Jadavpur University, Calcutta. She was awarded a Junior Research Fellowship to conduct her PhD studies which she completed at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Thereafter in Australia, during her 15 years experience as research scientist in both academic and industry environments she participated in collaborative R&D projects with MNCs (such as Chugai Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Japan) and public sector organizations. Besides her active contribution to innovative projects in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, Sangeeta has made significant contributions in evaluating the impact of innovative health technologies in different country environments, including those of Australia and developing countries.

Sangeeta brings her extensive experience in knowledge creation and innovation management into her current doctoral studies in international business. Her doctoral research focuses on how India?s knowledge intensive sector is adapting innovation strategies in response to the stronger intellectual property regime under TRIPS (Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights System), a niche area yet to be fully explored in the academic literature. In 2007 Sangeeta was invited to the Emerging Scholars In Australia and New Zealand (ANZIBA Special Session, AIB 2007 annual meeting) to showcase her doctoral research.

Sangeeta has been involved in teaching international strategy and alliance units at the Discipline of International Business, University of Sydney, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels since 2007. She draws on her international experience, practical insights, and analytical rigour to enrich her teaching in international business.
