After completing a Bachelor of Arts/ Commerce with Honours in Work and Organisational Studies, Sharna maintained her connection with the Discipline and university by undertaking the role of Senior Tutor and Tutor in a range of undergraduate subjects covering management, industrial relations, organisational behaviour and management ethics. In 2008 Sharna became the newest addition, as a Research Assistant, to an ARC Linkage project funded till December 2010 which investigates Human Resource Information Systems and the Strategic Significance of the Human Resource Function. This project is headed by Professor David Grant, Associate Professor Richard Hall, Associate Professor Nick Wailes and Dr Kristine Dery. Sharna?s passion for the world of work has been pursued, supported and strengthened through her additional experiences as an Associate Consultant for a management consulting company. She has also worked in the area of human resources, specifically recruitment and selection.
Working thesis title: Building capable capabilities: The role of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) in achieving competitive advantage through Talent Management
