Sue Williamson has focused on gender equality, women and industrial relations in her academic pursuits as well as work outside academia. Sue has published on women and industrial relations, charting policy developments over the last few years and their impact on women. She has also published and given many conference papers on equality bargaining, on how unions use collective bargaining to negotiate gender equality items for employees, including improved family provisions.

Sue is currently working on a collaborative international anthology on equality bargaining. Sue also works with Professor Marian Baird and Dr Rae Cooper on an ARC-funded project examining how parents negotiate flexibility in the workplace under the Fair Work Act.
