Timothy Wang joined the University of Sydney as Associate Lecturer in June 2011. Before commencing his academic career he worked as International Relations Officer at Tsinghua University with the responsibilities of managing external relations with students and other universities including the Australian National University and University of South Australia.
Timothy holds degrees in linguistics and accounting. He teaches in the area of financial accounting and has received numerous Dean’s Citation for Tutoring and several nominations for Excellence in Teaching Awards. Timothy is building an active research profile on two main research areas: one is the application of linguistic insights to accounting as a business language, and the other corporate bankruptcy prediction modelling using traditional statistical and machine learning techniques.
