Toby joined the Workplace Research Centre in July 2009. Prior to joining the Workplace Research Centre Toby was a researcher at the NSW Commission for Children and Young People where he undertook a range of research projects on children and young people's work, child protection and children and young people's participation rights. Toby has experience in policy and program based research and evaluation in the human services context. This has included evaluating departmental policies, practices and interagency collaboration in child protection and the effect of changes in managerial practices for front-line workers in the delivery of child protection services. He has expertise in qualitative and quantitative research, with specific skills in undertaking research with children and young people.
Toby is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney investigating the paid and unpaid work undertaken by young people.
