Wu Zhan is a senior lecturer in International Business of The University of Sydney Business School. He used to work in a Chinese import and export company and a governmental agency responsible for FDI in China. As a Chinese national and an Australian PR, he is interested in promoting the academic exchange between China and Australia. He earned his Ph.D degree in International Business Strategy from Nanyang Technological University Business School, Singapore. His main research interests are International Business Strategy with a focus on emerging markets and transition economies, global innovation strategy of MNCs, international services marketing, international business negotiation, and dynamic capabilities. His teaching interests are international business strategy and strategic management. Up to date, he has published in leading journals such as Management International Review, Journal of World Business, Journal of Services Marketing, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Journal of Computer Information Systems, among others. In addition, he has presented numerous papers at top international conferences such as AIB, AOM and AMA. His current research interests are competitive dynamics between foreign and local rivals in transition economies, subsidiary innovation in emerging markets, inter-cultural service encounter, and cross-cultural ;negotiation. He is ad hoc reviewer of reputable journals such as Journal of International Business Studies and Asia Pacific Journal of Management.
Due to his teaching excellence, he was the inaugural recipient of the prestigious Wayne Lonergan Outstanding Teaching Award (Early Career) valued at $10,000 awarded by Business School, on top of the Dean's Citation for Teaching Excellence in 2008 and 2009. He served as Learning and Teaching Associate (2009-2010) and Undergraduate Program Coordinator (2011-2013) of The Discipline of International Business. Currently, he is Director of Master of International Business (MIB) program.
He is currently Visiting Assistant Professor of Fudan University Management School in Shanghai, China, which is among the best business schools in China.
