Who organises the program?

The Business Professional Practicum in Indonesia is a joint initiative of the University of Sydney Business School and BINUS University in Indonesia. The Business School will manage the administration of the program.

The Business Professional Practicum in Indonesia is an elective unit only and cannot contribute towards a major.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you have room in your degree to undertake this unit.

It is also your responsibility to ensure that your study plans conform to the relevant degree and faculty resolutions that are applicable to you. The internship will occur over a period of four weeks. You will work five days a week, Monday to Friday. Hours per week will be determined by the host organisation and will be agreed to prior to commencement of the internship.

How is my placement organised?

As far as possible, BINUS University will allocate internships according to a student's educational background and interests. However, this is dependent on availability and it is not possible to guarantee that a student's role will be directly related to their particular area of study.

What kind of organisation would I be working for?

Internships are available in all discipline areas.  Please refer to the Internship opportunities web page for further information.

What do I do during my internship?

Tasks will be agreed to at the outset of the internship and will vary between organisations.

Potentially, however the internship should be considered as an opportunity to expand your knowledge and learn new skills.

Do I get paid for my internship?

No, all internships are unpaid, as you earn credit points towards your degree.

Can I receive academic credit for my internship?

Yes. The internship is a significant component of the compulsory unit of study BUSS2340, which upon successful completion will be credited towards your degree.  This is an elective unit only and cannot count towards a major.
