Shanghai Business Immersion Program


Fees consist of the following 2 components:

  1. BUSS2330 International Immersion in Business unit of study fee which is the normal tuition fee associated with a unit of study at the Business School and will be charged through the normal University billing process.
  2. The program fee which $6,050 (TBC) includes the following:
  • A 6 week Internship with an English speaking organisation
  • Professional development resources;
  • Online career-counselling resources.
  • Pre-departure support services
    • An individual session to discuss your internship goals and interests, and to provide feedback on your resume and cover letter;
    • Pre-departure orientation materials;
    • Pre-departure webinar;
    • Airline ticket advice and access to booking options with deals from partner companies;
    • Visa advice and support.
  • On the ground support
    • Upon arrival in Shanghai, a “Bridging Cultures Program” orientation which covers cultural adjustment, health and safety, housing, internship placements, culture nuance in the workplace, cultural activities, conflict resolution in the workplace, amongst other topics;
    • Emergency support from on-site staff who will be on-call for the duration of the program.
    • Ongoing Internship support;
  • A local mobile phone/SIM card;
  • International health insurance;
  • Accommodation
    • Fully-furnished, apartment-style accommodation;
  • Professional Development Toolbox & Academic Curriculum
    • Personalised resume and cover letter advice;
    • Online video resume and portfolio platform;
    • Interview tips video;
    • Online career resources;
    • Goal setting tools;
    • Career resource guide;
    • Career assessment tools;
    • On-site professional development activities such as networking events, professional speakers, business dinner etiquette, etc.
  • Cultural activities
    • Multi-day Bridging Cultures Program: ISA on-site staff will welcome you upon arrival, organise cultural activities, facilitate orientation and serve as a cultural liaison for the group throughout the program.
    • Optional on-site cultural activities throughout the duration of program.
  • Transportation
    • Group airport pick-up and transfer to the accommodation;
    • Local transportation pass pre-loaded with a fixed amount of money for first few days. Additional money is the responsibility of the student.


There will be scholarships available based on merit and equity considerations. Students must indicate on the application form if they wish to be considered for a top-up scholarship. Evidence of financial hardship is required for all equity based applications.
