Program conditions

By submitting an application you agree to the following program conditions:

Application process

  • Acceptance onto the program is based on the student meeting the WAM & credit points as well as the host organisation meeting University requirements in terms of WHS and learning outcomes.
  • All applicants must have completed (or will complete in semester 2 2017) at least 2 full load semesters of Business units.
  • Applications will only be accepted during the specified application dates via the online application form. Late applications will not be considered.
  • All applicants must not apply to graduate prior to completing their placement and unit of study requirements.
  • The University of Sydney Business School will administer all applications and all enquiries should be directed to: The Work Integrated Learning Coordinator, Jayde Riddell.

Placements

  • Placements must take place from either 27th November 2017 to 5th January 2018 or 15th January to 23rd February 2018.
  • Students are expected to work a minimum of 210 hours, with the specific hours being determined by the host organisation. The specific work hours are agreed with the host organisation prior to the commencement of placement.
  • A representative of the host organisation must provide a placement outline with the main objectives of the placement. This may also include a list of the student's main tasks and any further work obligations that can be readily identified and reviewed periodically throughout the work period.  This must be included in the online application.
  • Students are expected to represent the University and host organisation in a positive manner at all times. Inappropriate behaviour or misrepresentation of the University's name and resources, either professionally or otherwise may result in the immediate termination of the student from the program.
  • All placements must be unpaid however students will earn 6 credit points for successfully completing the program.

Media

  • Students are expected to agree to photographs or video taken in connection to the placement being used for marketing purposes by the University of Sydney Business School.

Confidentiality

  • Student information as required for administering all aspects of the program will be transferred from the University of Sydney Business School to the student’s host organisation.
