New Research Manager joins WRC

The WRC would like to welcome Helen Sargent who has joined the Centre as the WRC Research Manager. Her role is to manage the Centre's research team, coordinate the WRC's overall project management system and to help facilitate business development opportunities.

Prior to her appointment at the University of Sydney, she completed her post-doc in plant genetic engineering and actively participated in the creation of a University start-up company from that post-doctoral research. Later she joined Flinders University as a Research Development Officer for the Nanostructures and Molecular Interactions Research team within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. She later moved to Sydney and worked as an intermediary for Innovationxchange working with a broad range of clients including two University commercialisation units, a multi-national medical research organisation and other ASX listed companies. More recently she has worked for a rural research and development corporation managing a multi-million dollar project portfolio in emerging technologies and as business development manager for a small international agricultural services company based in the US. Helen has been involved in numerous ARC and CRC grant applications and tender submissions. We look forward to working with Helen.
