How can we help all Australian workers to improve their health?

12 Jul 2011

The Workplace Research Centre is working collaboratively with the Boden Institute of Obesity, Nutrition, Exercise and Eating Disorders and the Workforce Education and Development Group in the Sydney Medical School to further our knowledge of how we can improve our health and wellbeing in the workplace. This University of Sydney research consortium has been contracted by the Department of Health and Ageing (DOHA) to develop content and related resources for an online national Healthy Workers Portal. This project aims to assist employers and employees to implement healthy living programs in workplaces as part of the Healthy Worker Initiative.

The researchers at the Workplace Research Centre at the University of Sydney are looking for representatives from businesses/employers who are interested in participating in one 3 hour workshop (catered workshops will be held centrally in Sydney and Melbourne in mid August) to provide feedback on the potential content and resources on the Healthy Workers Portal.

To register your interest in participating in a workshop, please contact Catherine Raffaele (02 9036 9584, catherine.raffaele@sydney.edu.au ) or Hanna Schutz (02 9351 5632, johanna.schutz@sydney.edu.au ) before COB, Friday 15th August.

Workshop attendees will receive discounted rates to attend the Happiness, Health and Wellbeing @ Work conference, 14th September.  Please contact Karen Treacy for more information on the conference or go to www.happyworkplaces.com.au
