About Sydney Cancer Conference, 24 - 26 July 2008
Research Translation: Innovation to practice
The inaugural Sydney Cancer Conference 2008 (SCC2008) was held from Thursday 24 - Saturday 26 July 2008 at the Eastern Avenue Auditorium and Lecture Theatre complex at The University of Sydney. SCC2008 was held under the auspices of The University of Sydney Cancer Research Network.
The theme for SCC2008 was 'Research translation: From innovation to practice'. SCC2008 provided opportunities for dialogue and exchange of ideas between basic and clinical researchers to speed the translation of new discoveries for the benefit of cancer patients.
For cancer researchers and clinicians, SCC2008 was an important opportunity to exchange information on current and emerging knowledge, forge new collaborations, and identify future opportunities in cancer research and patient care.
