Research interests

Obesity is linked to nearly every disease including cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and even to diseases of the gut. I believe that metabolic disfunction caused by bad habits such as not exercising or having bad eating habits are the cause of many of these diseases even when obesity isn't apparent. My research takes a wholistic approach to finding a cure for these linked diseases and thus covers everything from cell culture systems, cellular signalling and enzyme activity assays to various in vivo models, molecular biology and genomic sequencing.
