Department of Classics and Ancient History

Classics and Ancient History have been taught at Sydney since the University's inception in 1852. The department is located in the historic main quadrangle and the adjunct Brennan/MacCallum buildings. We are the largest department of Classics and Ancient History in Australasia with an internationally renowned faculty.The Department of Classics and Ancient History is part of the School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry, within the Faculty of Arts.
