The Chancellor's Committee
Established in 1977 on the initiative of the late Sir Hermann Black, the Chancellor's Committee comprises a group of voluntary workers raising money for projects of university-wide significance.
Most of the Committee's income is obtained from shop sales, the annual bookfest (September/October) and the annual Antique Fair (January/February). Grants totalling $1m have been made for a wide variety of projects including Library art collections and rare books conservations, scholarships, furniture and furnishings for various buildings, equipment and other minor projects.
Contact with the Chancellor's Committee may be made at the shop situated under the Clock Tower next to the Enquiry and Information Office, Building A14, between 10am and 3pm, Monday to Friday.
