Lauri Olivier

Lauri holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, and an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern. Lauri has extensive experience in medical technologies research, transfer and commercialisation. She is adept at university/corporate joint venture management, with accomplishments including commercialisation of a university diagnostic with Natus Medical, IP target identification and acquisition for corporations including Medtronic Spinal and Orthopedics and Raytheon Systems, and start-up out licensing to Meridian Diagnostics. Lauri has been instrumental in the launch of several technology start-ups, won and managed over $2Mil in SBIR/STTR funding, managed a number of innovation portfolios, and provided advisory services to foundations, universities and state governments including Northwestern University, UIC’s Business School, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, The Coulter Foundation, The WBT Marketplace, the State of New York, and the State of Pennsylvania.

Lauri’s scientific and technology honors include winning the Smithsonian Institute’s Year 2000 Computerworld Award for innovative product development at Raytheon and an American Heart Association Research Award for the study of gfp-mediated cytoskeletal dynamics. She recently led a Kellogg MBA team to 2nd Place in the National Battle for Healthcare Information competition.
