Why study GE at CET?
There are many reasons for studying GE at CET. You may need English to further your career. You may want to refresh your language skills in an English speaking environment or you may want to work on your basic language skills before you go to university.
Our GE teachers pride themselves on meeting these needs. Courses are flexible so they can be adapted to best match your objectives.
In order to better understand your aims, teachers and students set joint goals which inform both the core and the self-study program. Progress is monitored through assessment tasks in the four macro skills. Each student receives a report outlining their current competencies on completion of the course.

Our staff philosophy
We believe that students learn best when they are enjoying themselves. Therefore lessons are designed to be fun as well as to improve student’s language skills. While at CET we encourage students to:
- make the most of the university environment
- participate in Australian life and culture
- see as much of Sydney and the surrounding areas as possible.
Out and about
Excursions are an important part of the GE course. These trips are usually incorporated into the learning schedule to make the lessons active and give students a personal insight into Australian culture. These excursions are incorporated into the learning schedule to provide real life learning experiences and a personal insight into Australian culture.

Monitoring progress
Teachers and students together set goals and monitor progress as part of their core and self-study program. They use feedback and assessment tasks in the four macro skills, and each student receives an individual report on completion of their study.
