Overview

You may undertake the EAP Teacher Training course as part of a Customised Program. You may choose one of the following options below.

English for Academic Purposes Teacher Training (EAPTT) - online (Open classes)

This option means your group will be integrated into an existing EAPTT course commencing on the dates outlined below. The course duration is 9 weeks that includes 1 hour webinar and 30 min interactive tutorial per week. 2-3 hours per week of study and assignment writing is required. This option does not require your group to travel to Sydney and can be completed by distance.

English for Academic Purposes Teacher Training (EAPTT) - online (Closed classes)

This option means your group will have their own online EAPTT course. The course duration is 9 weeks that includes 1 hour webinar and 30 min interactive tutorial per week. 2-3 hours per week of study and assignment writing is required. This option does not require your group to travel to Sydney and can be completed by distance. Start dates for this course are subject to availability of staff resources. This course requires a minimum of 15 students.

English for Academic Purposes Teacher Training (EAPTT) - face to face

This may be completed in 2-12 weeks part-time or full-time on campus. If completed full-time this course is 20 hours per week, which is 4 hours per day (Monday - Friday) either in the morning or afternoon. This course requires a minimum of 15 students.

Entry requirements

If applying for English for Academic Purposes Teacher Training (EAPTT) - online (Open classes) then the following entry requirements apply:

  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent.
  • A recognised TESOL qualification.

Face to face

AUD$1000 for 1 week.

Course payments made by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) will incur a surcharge of 1.53% of the total cost.

Overseas Health Cover (OSHC)

If you are intending to study under a student visa, you will need Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). CET can arrange OSHC for you with Allianz as part of the application process. Simply indicate the type of insurance required (single/dual/family) on step 2 of the application form. You may also arrange your own cover from any of the government approved providers below:
