SYDNEY CHINA BUSINESS FORUM 2013 SPEAKERS
This year’s forum will feature Australian and Chinese speakers drawn from a range of business, government, legal and academic background and include some of the Australia’s and China’s most insightful thought-leaders on the issues.
Mr Karl Lijun QIN
Karl Lijun Qin is a Chinese born New Zealand citizen who has lived and worked in New Zealand and Australia for over fifteen years.
When an engineer in his mid twenties, Karl was promoted to General Manager and tasked with building the largest Polyethylene pipe factory in China.
In 1998 as a Chinese expatriate, Karl was transferred to Wellington New Zealand to explore and develop commercial cooperative opportunities between China and New Zealand. In 2004, he was appointed CEO of Haier Australia Pty Limited.
In 2007, Karl founded TDES, which has business operations in both China and Australia. TDES is now manufacturing and supplying equipment to the petroleum and Mining industries and exports 100% of its products to international markets.
Karl graduated with a Masters Degree in Engineering in China and holds an MBA degree from Massey University, New Zealand.

BYD Co, invested by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc., is the world’s largest supplier of rechargeable batteries and a top high-tech enterprise in China specialised in IT, automobile, solar farm, battery energy storage station, electric vehicle and LED products.
BYD Auto, a subsidiary of BYD Co., has become the most innovative independent national auto brand and leads the field of electric vehicles with unique technologies.
Mr LIU Xueliang, is President of BYD Japan Co. Ltd. He is also General Manager, BYD Japan Auto mould Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division. He joined BYD Co. in July 2004 as Deputy General Manager, BYD Japan Co. Ltd.
Prior to his appointment at BYD, Mr Liu was Marketing Manager, OGIHARA Co. Ltd.
Mr Liu graduated from Tokyo International University with a bachelor degree in International Economics. He is also a senior engineer.
Mr ZHOU Tong
PetroChina Company Limited Fushun Petrochemical Rubber Co.
PetroChina is a Chinese oil and gas company and is the listed arm of state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the largest integrated energy company in the People’s Republic of China. The Company is China's biggest oil producer, listed on the Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York stock exchanges.
Mr Zhou was appointed President of Fushun Petrochemical Rubber Co. in 2011. Prior to his appointment, he was Deputy General Manager, Rubber Production, in charge of key areas of the rubber project in the Company, including project execution, project management, quality, process monitoring and outsourcing.
Mr Zhou graduated Liaoning University of Petroleum and Chemical Technology.
During his visit to Sydney, he will be interested in meeting companies and research institutes specialised in petroleum production and the reduction of waste/waste water from petroleum production.
