China Studies Centre Memberships
The China Studies Centre (CSC) has four categories of Members. The membership applications are reviewed and submitted to the CSC Executive Committee, and approved annually by the CSC Board of Management.
The 4 categories of membership are:
Academic Members of the centre are academic members and staff of the University of Sydney with an academic interest in China or Chinese culture. All CSC Academic Group members are current academic members.
Academic Members are encouraged to join the China Studies Centre Academic Groups. Please list the CSC Academic Group(s) you would like to join.
Academic Members must be active participants in at least one CSC Academic Group and are eligible to apply for CSC research funding.

Student Members of the Centre must be a current student at the University of Sydney to be eligible for membership.
To apply, please fill out the Student Membership form.
Student members may be eligible to apply to be Junior Policy Associates and are eligible to apply for various student support schemes if offered.
Honorary Members are honorary staff at the University of Sydney, academic staff members from other institutions, independent researchers who wish to be associated with the China Studies Centre, or individuals who have engaged with China in the fields of business, politics, culture, or other relevant non-academic areas.
Honorary membership of the China Studies Centre is determined by the Centre’s Executive Committee on recommendation from the Academic Appointments Committee for up to three years and is renewable.
Honorary Members are encouraged to join the China Studies Centre Academic Group(s). Please list the CSC Academic Group/s you would like to join.

Associate Members are those people interested in China who do not meet the critera for Academic, Honorary or Student membership which includes, but is not limited to, professional staff of the University of Sydney, students at institutions other than the University of Sydney and members of the general public with a general interest in China.

Associate members may be eligible to apply to be Junior Policy Associates provided other JPA criteria are met.
