MASTER OF CHINA STUDIES (MChinaStud)
China’s relationship with Australia and the rest of the world is critical to Australia’s future success. The two-year Master of China Studies is the only course of its type in Australia and provides valuable expertise on China that you can use to further your current career or make a difference in a new career. If you are a Chinese student, you can gain new insights about your own country from a world-renowned,international university.
In this program we offer a broad introduction to China’s society and culture, its history and development and the opportunity to concentrate on one specific disciplinary perspective in one of the following areas: Business, Health, History, Law, Society, and Politics. Students will be expected to acquire additional language skills in English or Chinese as appropriate. All students will also need to write a dissertation. The master’s degree is a prerequisite for our PhD program in the area of China Studies.

Completion of bachelor’s degree orhigher award from a recognised tertiary institution with a minimum credit (65%)
average. In addition, international students’ English language requirements are as follows: IELTS: Minimum of 7.0
overall (with minimum 6.0 in each band). TOEFL paper-based: Minimum of 600 overall including minimum of 4.5 in writing. TOEFL IBT: Minimum of 100 overall including minimum of 22 in reading, listening and speaking and 23 in writing.
