New Opportunities to Volunteer with Compass in 2014

12 February 2014

Compass volunteers

You have most likely seen us walking around the uni in our bright yellow Compass t-shirts, running programs and events for primary and high school students from Sydney's South West and regional NSW. Well, we're back again in 2014 and we're kicking off with the recruitment of Compass volunteers.

We are very excited to offer University of Sydney students, staff and alumni the opportunity to volunteer with Compass in our Word Up literacy program, Numeracy program, Homework Club or Classroom Activity Facilitator program. While last year we were lucky enough to recruit a total of 161 volunteers, this year we will be looking for even more due to the expansion of our program.

Compass, in partnership with Souths Cares, is proud to be extending our volunteer program into two new partner schools where we will be setting up and running Homework Clubs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Look out for our Compass stall at O-Week or us, out and about on campus, spruiking the opportunities available for prospective volunteers this year. To find out more about the different volunteer programs offered and at which schools they will be running in 2014 see our Volunteers page.

Volunteer Applications are open online from 10 February - 10 March. Apply now!
