Numeracy Tutoring (High School)

Many students struggle with basic numeracy when they begin high school. These difficulties create further challenges as they progress through school, in mathematics and other subjects where numeracy skills are crucial.
In 2013 we are launching a new volunteer program to assist students in Years 7 or 8 who need extra support in numeracy. As a volunteer, you will work one-on-one with students to deliver a set program that will help them to develop their basic mathematics skills.
Who should volunteer?
We are seeking volunteers who are:
- Interested in mathematics or in assisting students with basic numeracy
- Keen to help students aged 12 to 15
- Comfortable delivering a structured tutoring program in a one-on-one setting
- Available to volunteer each week for the duration of the program
