Traditional Chinese Medicine and Wellbeing
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the Institute held a public lecture on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Wellbeing. The lecture was co-presented by the City of Sydney to a full house of more than 150.
Schools Performance
The Confucius Institute organised a Chinese music and dance performance for school children from across Sydney.
Chinese Calligraphy Exhibition
The Institute co-presented a Chinese calligraphy exhibition by the award-winning Chinese-Australian calligrapher Liang Xiao Ping with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Chinese Calligraphy Workshop
The Confucius Institute co-presented two Chinese calligraphy workshops with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Three hundred people attended the workshops that coincided with the opening of a solo exhibition by Liang Xiao Ping.
Chinese Language Teachers’ Conference
The Confucius Institute and NSW DET co-presented a two-day conference for Chinese language teachers from across New South Wales, with over 90 teachers in attendance.
Chinese Opera Workshops
The Institute hosted three workshops with Jingkun Theatre on Stage Movement, Percussion and Make-up in Chinese Opera.
Australian Foreign Minister at Fudan University
Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, The Hon Stephen Smith MP, gave a speech at Fudan University, Shanghai, which is a partner of the University of Sydney Confucius Institute.
