Language Programs
Multilevel Chinese language programs for business and general public.
Multimedia and web-based Chinese teaching
The Institute staff will work with the Chinese language teachers provided by the HanBan and other interested partners to develop and adapt multimedia and web-based Chinese language materials for the Australian market. Target markets will include schools (primary and schools, public and independent), institutions of higher education, business, government and the general community.
HSK (Chinese language proficiency) testing
Under the supervision of the HanBan and its Australian representatives, USCI will administer HSK tests one or more times each year.
Professional training for Chinese teachers
The Institute plans to work with the Department of Education and Training of NSW and others to provide basic training, upgrading and professional development for teachers working in the fields of Chinese language and culture. Workshops are planned for Sydney region public high school teachers on such topics as: Contemporary Chinese Society; Chinese History; and China’s Economic Development. The Institute may also administer examinations for the Certificate of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.
Professional services
The Institute will develop other professional services, including consulting, executive pre-departure training, interpreting and translation, and providing access to up-to-date references and resource materials.
