University of Sydney Alumni Council
The University of Sydney has more than 300,000 living alumni in Australia and around the world. Our alumni form an essential component of our identity, carrying the history and achievements of our past, present and future.
The University of Sydney Alumni Council is the University's peak alumni body, which represents all graduates of the University of Sydney. Their vision is to create a mutually beneficial Alumni Relations program that will strengthen and engage the alumni community and support the University’s vision for years to come.
The role of the Alumni Council is to:
- Support the University and its faculties in their endeavours to grow alumni engagement across the University community;
- Effectively facilitate connectivity between alumni, the University community and its stakeholders;
- Provide opportunities for alumni to develop a lifelong connection with the University, commencing when a student enters the University.
The Alumni Council members developed a manifesto which is underpinned by the University’s strategic plan and the Alumni Strategy 2014-2016. From this document, “The Five Cs” document was developed which details the actions the Alumni Council will take to achieve their purpose. They provide council members with guidance and support around their important role in growing alumni engagement and detail the actions the council will take to achieve its purpose. They can be considered in isolation or flow from beginning to end:
