POSTGRADUATE SPECIALISATION

The Econometrics specialisation is designed to produce graduates with skills that can realise the profit potential of data. It is intended for students who have a primary interest in the analysis of data, as well as for those wishing to develop their analytical skills in the primary area of economics. Students may be seeking skills for use within current employment areas, or for understanding current research reports; or they may be looking towards future employment in analysis.

Study plan

Master of Economics:
To meet the requirements for this specialisation in the Master of Economics degree, a candidate completes three units of study (18 credit points), comprising (i) one six credit point compulsory unit of study: ECMT6002; and (ii) a minimum of two units of study (12 credit points) in elective units of study selected from the available elective options listed in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Handbook.

Master of Commerce:
To meet the requirements for this specialisation in the Master of Commerce and combined degrees, a candidate completes five units of study (30 credit points), comprising (i) one six credit point foundational unit of study: ECMT500 Principles of Econometrics; (ii) one six credit point compulsory unit of study: ECMT6002 Econometric Applications; and (iii) three elective units of study (18 credit points) selected from the available elective options listed in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Handbook.

Graduate opportunities
